Teaching the Word Here are a few tips and pointers on teaching the word. - Intro, Body, and Conclusion. - Tell them what you are going to teach them, teach it to them, then tell them what you just taught them. This is a good way to communicate in public speaking. - Word study. - Track a word through the Word. It can be Greek, English, Hebrew, etc. - Topical study. - Teach a topic from the word, this is similar to a word study. - Incident, Action, Benefit - Use an incident from real life or the word, show the action taken, then show the benefit of taking that action. - Props - Use an object, a chart, graphics or some other prop to illustrate your point from the word. - Expository - Teach a chapter or a section from the word, expound on a section of scripture. - Tapes & Books - Work a tape or a section from a book and teach it. Learn from how others organize and present a teaching. - Read the Word - The more overall scope that you develop from the word and the more understanding you have can help you teach the word better. - Secular Sources - You can take things you learned in the world and rightly divide them and if they line up with the Word then you can teach them. You can also use more than one of these methods in one teaching. |
